SAN ANTONIO - The University of the South football team concluded the 2022 regular season with a 38-0 loss to Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Champion Trinity University, Saturday afternoon from Trinity Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-TU scored on the second play of the game thanks to a 43-yard touchdown run by Justin Carmouche. After a three-and-out by Sewanee on its first possession, BJ Stewart returned a punt 75 yards for the score.
-Trinity led 21-0 after one quarter and 31-0 at the half.
-In the second half,
Dagem Samuel posted a 73-yard kickoff return.
-Trinity, who is the top team in Region III of the NCAA Division III region rankings, is listed sixth in the D3football.com Top-25 and fifth in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll.

Michael McGhee surpassed 800 rushing yards in a season with 38 rushing yards on the afternoon. For the 2022 season, the Chattanooga, Tenn. native posted 812 rushing yards with seven touchdowns. In his career, he totaled 1,360 yards on the ground on 301 carries.

Quinn Johnson posted two sacks and had 2.5 tackles for a loss. He also finished with eight tackles, while
Keegan Glaze posted 10 stops and a TFL.

-Eight Trinity players had positive rushing yardage, as the Tigers posted 230 yards on the ground. Justin Carmouche had 56 yards on the ground and a score.

-James Ogunrin tallied 1.5 sacks on defense.
