BREVARD, N.C. - The University of the South men's basketball team took down Brevard College in a pre-Thanksgiving contest, 87-82, Tuesday night from Boshamer Gymnasium. The Tigers earned its third consecutive win, all coming on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Tied 7-7 at the 17:41 mark in the opening half, The Tigers went on an 11-2 runto push the lead to 19-9 with 14:19 left in the opening period.
-The Tornados would return the favor and reclaim the lead, 20-19, with 11:38 remaining in the half. From there, no one had more than a one-possession lead, as the game was even at 39 after 20 minutes.
-After a
Tre Corrigan free throw, LB Boyette gave the Tornados the 42-40 lead, but the Tigers went on an 8-1 run to push the lead to five.
-Following a triple fom Chancey Watson to make it a one possession game, Sewanee went on a 10-2 run to lead, 58-47, at the 11:36 mark in the second half.
-Sewanee made the lead as high as 16 thanks to a Corrigan 3-pointer with 5:08 left in the game.
-After Brevard shot 50% from the field in the opening half (16-of-32), the Tornados shot just 43% (16-of-37) in the second half and just 4-of-12 from downtown.
-Playing for the first time at Brevard in the all-time series, Sewanee moves to 3-0 all-time in the season series versus the Tornados.

Russ Marr picked up his second 30-point game of the season with 30 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 5-of-7 from downtown. He also knocked down 9-of-12 from the charity stripe. The sophomore also posted four rebounds and also swatted away four shots.

Colin Kahl dropped 19 points, while
Tre Corrigan scored 15 and added seven boards and five dimes.

Luka Avaliani scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
-For the game, the University of the South shot 27-of-47 (57.4%) and 15-of-24 (62.5%) in the second half. During the three-game win streak, the Tigers are shooting 53.6% from the floor
