SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South men's basketball team dropped a 101-76 decision to Emory University in a Monday night contest from Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both teams were hot from the floor at the start of the game. Sewanee made five of its first nine shots, while Emory went 4-of-8 as the Tigers had a 13-10 lead at the under-16.
-The Eagles stormed out from there, as they pushed the lead to 19 at one point midway through the half.
-Sewanee rebounded by going on a 9-2 run in the final two minutes of the first half thanks to 6-of-7 from the floor and two 3-pointers by
Tre Corrigan to help the Purple and White to get within 10 points, 53-43, at the break.
-Despite the Tigers' effort to cut the deficit to nine with 17 minutes left in the second half, the Eagles went on a 16-5 run between media timeouts to seal the contest.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Colin Kahl posted a season-high 24 points with seven rebounds. The senior also added three steals and two assists and blocks each.

Russ Marr posted 17 points and eight boards, while
Tre Corrigan dished out five dimes and scored nine points.
EMORY KEY STATISTICS
-Six different Emory players posted double-figures, led by Benjamn Pearce's 17. Albert Fallas and Mason Johnson each contributed 13 for the Eagles.
-Cale Martens grabbed 13 rebounds and added 10 points.
UP NEXT
After a well-deserved break, the University of the South will travel to LaGrange College for the Wingate by Wyndham Classic. Sewanee's first matchup will be with Huntingdon (Ala.) on Friday night.
