MEMPHIS - The University of the South football team were taken down by Rhodes College in the 69th edition of the Orgill Cup, 33-6, Saturday afternoon from Crain Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After Sewanee was forced to punt on its first possession, Rhodes posted a 12-play drive that chewed up seven minutes of the clock to put the home team on the board first.
-On the Tigers' next possession,
Michael McGhee found daylight on the left side of the field for 67 yards to flip the field to the red zone. On a fourth and goal, McGhee punched the ball in one yard out for the score to make it 7-6.
-Rhodes took advantage of a Sewanee mistake in the second quarter on a fumble. The Lynx picked up the loose ball in the end zone for the score.
-Sewanee's final two drives of the half were stalled on offense, but the defense kept the game a one-score deficit. Late in the half, a 36-yard field goal by Wiley Henshaw was no good to keep the score 14-6.
-After each team traded possessions to start the second half, the Lynx added a safety with 8:52 left in the period after a mistake by Sewanee.
-The Lynx added a 37-yard field goal by Henshaw with 3:05 left in the third to make it a 19-6 score.
-Rhodes essentially put the game away with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Michael McGhee rushed for 97 yards on 16 carries, including the 67-yard carry that set up the Tiger touchdown.

Harris Cravens made 12 tackles and two pass breakups on the day, while
Keegan Glaze added 11 stops.
Zion Morris had a sack, while
Michael Showalter posted 10 tackles, one for a loss.
RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Luke Macias had 135 yards passing on 11-of-19, while Elijah Bane ran the ball 20 times for 80 yards.
-Joe Conroy had six tackles for Rhodes, including two for a loss. Kobe Bins also had two stops for a loss, with one coming off the quarterback.

Homecoming will take place next Saturday, as the Tigers will host the Vikings of Berry College at 1:30 p.m.
