SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South volleyball program wrapped up the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) schedule on Thursday night with a 3-1 loss to Centre College from Juhan Gymnasium.

-Prior to first serve, the program recognized its four seniors:
Anna Ball,
Lydia Goffi,
Ellie Pedersen and
Lexi Williams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Trailing 14-10 in the set, Centre won six straight points to lead 16-14. The Tigers did make it interesting, but Centre won six of the final eight points to take the set, 25-21.
-In the second stanza, Centre got out to a hot start with a 5-1 lead, but Sewanee stayed consistent and won the set, 25-17. CC posted eight attack errors and forced four on the serve to help Sewanee even the match at a set apiece.
-Despite the Purple and White not committing an attack error in the third set, the Colonels out-attacked the home team, 18-8, as they Colonels posted a 25-18 victory.
-The Colonels sealed the contest with a 25-18 score in the fourth game, as the visitors posted 59 kills to Sewanee's 35.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Lydia Goffi, who recorded her 500th career kill on Thursday night, finished the match with a team-high 10 kills. The senior missed out on a double-double by one with nine digs.

Ellie Pedersen recorded 9.5 points thanks in part to 5.5 blocks, incluidng three solo. The Tigers as a team posted 12 blocks to Centre's two.

Ashley Crosby scored 10.5 points on eight kills and five block assists, while
Adele Cassidy totaled 18 digs.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Freshman Ally Knueven had 15 kills on the night, while Isabel Thornton totaled 12 kills and digs each.
-Meredith Phillips had 26 assists as one of Centre's two setters, but she also had a career-high eight kills in the win.

The regular season concludes for the Tigers on the road at Covenant College. First serve from Lookout Mountain will be at 6 p.m. on Friday night.
