CONWAY, Ark. - The University of the South football team played a strong second half, but it was not enough, as Hendrix College rolled to a 48-21 victory, Saturday afternoon in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest from Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Hendrix scored on six of its first seven drives of the game, including five straight touchdown drives to lead 34-0 with less than seven minutes left in the half.
-Sewanee's offense came to life in the second half. On the team's second play of its first possession,
Cyrus Wilson caught a pass for 75 yards to the endzone to get Sewanee on the board.
-Early in the fourth, the Purple Tigers posted a nine-play, 75-yard drive to get Sewanee on the board again. Young punched it in from two yards out.
-On Sewanee's last drive of the game,
Dagem Samuel caught a 16-yard pass from Young.

Quinn Johnson posted a game-high 12 tackles, five for a loss, and a sack to lead the defense.
Keegan Glaze added 11 tackles, 0.5 for a loss, and a forced fumble.

Jeremiah Young threw for 217 yards passing and two touchdowns.
Dagem Samuel and
Cyrus Wilson were each on the receiving end for Sewanee. Wilson caught three passes for 79 yards, while Samuel eclipses 500 yards receiving in his career with 65 on six catches.
-Sewanee did out-gain Hendrix on the ground, led by freshmen
Walker Robinson (53) and
Damerian Wigenton (47).
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-The story of the day was the pass for Hendrix, as Jacob Wood went 23-of-28 for 346 yards and three TDs. As a team, the Warriors posted 415 yards through the air and were 27-of-35.
-Tajae White posted 106 yards on six catches, as 13 different receivers caught a pass on the afternoon.
UP NEXT
After spending the last two weeks away from home, the Tigers will return to historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium on Oct. 22 for a showdown under the lights with Birmingham-Southern College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
