SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's basketball team played a run-and-gun game with the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern College, but it was the visitors who secured the 113-105 victory in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest, Sunday afternoon inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee was able to stay on point in the first period with the visitors, as they held a 25-24 lead after one quarter of play.
-BSC used a strong second quarter with a 35-20 frame to push the lead back in their favor at the break. The Panthers posted a 14-point lead, 59-45.
-Sewanee did outscore BSC in the second half, 60-54, to cut into the halftime deficit.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-The Tigers secured many superlatives on Sunday despite the setback.
Keisha Phillips earned career-bests in points (34), rebounds (15) and field goals made (14). The 34 points are the fourth-most in program history, according to acquired records.

Abby Young matched her personal bests in points and rebounds with 16 and eight, respectively.

Kayla Antoine also had a banner day with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and crashed the boards 10 times.

Ellie Treanton also contributed 16 points and added seven rebounds.
BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN KEY STATISTICS
-Brooke Westhoelter posted 26 bench points to lead BSC overall.
-McKenna Buckner posted 16 points, while Cassady Quintana dropped 15 and corralled six boards.

Sewanee will hit the road next weekend for games at Oglethorpe on Friday, Jan. 14 and Berry on Sunday, Jan. 16.
