SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South men's basketball team recorded a 79-74 victory over Birmingham-Southern College in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest, Sunday afternoon inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee had a strong first half from the floor with a 62 percent mark (18-of-29) from the floor, including 7-of-14 from downtown to lead 44-30 at the break.
-The Purple and White had an 18-point lead with 5:42 left in the game. However, BSC would rally to cut that deficit to one point, 75-74, with 21 seconds remaining in the game. However,
Russ Marr knocked free throws on the last two possessions to secure the victory.

Colin Kahl led all scorers with 23 points, posting his sixth 20-point game this season. The junior drained 10-of-16 from the field.

Russ Marr posted back-to-back 20-point performances with 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting.
