ATLANTA - The University of the South men's basketball team dropped a 74-60 decision to Oglethorpe University in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) game, Friday night inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Oglethorpe got out to a hot start, as the hosts scored the first nine points of the game before Sewanee dented the scoreboard at the 17:20 mark.
-Trailing 11-1, Sewanee went on an 9-0 run to cut the early deficit to one, 11-10. However, OU went on a 13-4 run to get the lead back up to nine points, 24-15, with nine minutes left in the half.
-The game of runs shifted back to the Tigers, as the Purple and White claimed its first lead of the game, 30-29, with four minutes left in the half, but the Petrels took the lead into the locker room, 32-31.
-Sewanee eventually tied the game again at 36 early in the second half, but Oglethorpe was able to take advantage of points off turnovers to push its lead back to nine, 47-38, with 12:38 left in the game.
-Despite a
Blake Bouldin layup to make it a 47-44 affair with 10:30 left, the Petrels used a 12-4 run to push the Tigers out of contention.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Colin Kahl posted his second double-double of the year with a 21-point, 10-rebound effort. The junior has scored 15 points or more in 10 of the team's 13 games.
Luka Avaliani dropped 11 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.
OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-Dimetri Chambers secured a game-high 26 points on 10-of-24 shooting and added seven boards.
-Lane Foster added 15 points and six dimes.
