ROME, Ga. - The University of the South women's basketball team saw a strong defensive effort put up by Berry College, as the Vikings defeated the Tigers, 52-23, Sunday afternoon in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest from the Cage Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After Sewanee earned the first bucket of the game, Berry went on an 8-0 run en route to a 14-6 lead after one quarter of play.
-The Vikings defense was stifling for the Tigers on Sunday, as the hosts posted a 24-11 lead at the break.
-The third quarter started out slow for both teams, but Berry pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Purple and White, 28-12, in the final 20 minutes.
