Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South softball team posted a Sunday doubleheader sweep of Johnson University, 11-10 and 13-3, Sunday afternoon from the Tiger Softball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Game one was an offensive exploding for both teams. Alice Charboneau started the scoring with an RBI double. Two batters later, Peri Prestoowd laced an RBI single to score Alice Charboneau. Michaela Walker added an RBI double to make it 3-0 in favor of the Purple and White.
-The Royals responded with a five-run second to claim the lead, 5-3. However, Sewanee would tack on a run in the bottom of the second and three in the third thanks to Hanna Judycki's two-run RBI single. The Tigers would not relinquish the lead from there.
-Leading 8-6 in the bottom of the fifth, Sewanee added three runs in the frame to extend the lead, 11-6.
-Johnson made it interesting in the seventh as they trailed 11-8. After a pop up to secure the first out, four straight Royals reached base, as the visitors had the tying run at second base. After a pitching change, Kendall Goodrum slammed the door to secure the save.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-In the second game, it was all Tigers. In the bottom of the first, Alice Charboneau launched the first of her two homers of the day with a two-run shot
-Leading 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Charboneau went yard again, this time a three-run dinger to make it a 7-1 affair. The Tigers scored a total of seven runs in the frame.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-In both games, eight of the nine Sewanee players in the starting lineup each recorded a base hit.
-In game one, Hanna Judycki, Alice Charboneau and Maggie Willis each recorded three hits. Charboneau added five RBI, while Judycki scored three runs.
-In the nightcap, Charboneau recorded five RBI and a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. During the doubleheader, the sophomore went 6-for-7 with 10 RBI.
JOHNSON KEY STATISTICS
-Mallory Smith led the Royals with a 7-for-8 day at the plate, including a 4-for-5 performance in game one.
-Summer Dean also recorded a 4-for-5 day with three RBI in the opening game.
