BEREA, Ky. - The University of the South men's basketball team saw a seven-point halftime lead slip away, as the Berea College Mountaineers pulled off the victory from the Seabury Center, 84-73, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers came out with the hot hand in the early going. Up 12-11 early in the first half, Sewanee used a 19-5 run to push the lead to 29-16 with under seven minutes left in the period.
-Sewanee had the lead as high as 15 at one point in the first 20 minutes, as the Purple and White posted a 19-of-33 mark from the field (57.6%) and 7-of-17 from beyond the arc (41.1%).
-However, the Mountaineers were able to erase the deficit in the final 20 minutes. While struggling from 3-point land, Berea shot 50% (16-of-32) in the second half and limited the Tigers to a less than 30% mark from the field in the period (11-of-37).
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

John Crump led the offense for Sewanee with an 18-point performance on 9-of-11 shooting, and he added eight dimes and two steals.

Colin Kahl nearly missed a double-double with a 15-point, eight-rebound day.

Russ Marr and
Tre Corrigan had 12 and 11 points, respectively, in their collegiate debuts. Corrigan added nine boards and four assists.
BEREA KEY STATISTICS
-Trey Minter and Quae Charlton each had a game-high 22 points to pace Berea, while Isaac Caudill added 20.
