BEREA, Ky. - The University of the South women's basketball team rallied to cut a second half deficit as high as 20 points to six in the final minutes, but it was Berea College who came away with a 66-55 victory, Tuesday afternoon from the Seabury Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Despite the Tigers making it a six-point affair, 19-13, after one quarter of play, the Mountaineers used a 11-0 run in the final four minutes of the second stanza to swell the lead to a 33-19 lead at the break.
-With Berea in control through three quarters, the Purple and White came out strong in the final frame, going on a 14-3 run to open the stanza as they cut the lead to a two-possession game, 53-47, but that would be as close as they would get.
-Berea is receiving votes in the first
Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III Poll, announced earlier on Tuesday.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Kinsley Logan played all 40 minutes and dropped 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting. The senior also contributed three steals and assists each.

Kayla Antoine posted 12 points thanks to an 8-of-10 effort from the charity stripe, and she added seven boards.
BEREA KEY STATISTICS
-Destiny Combs totaled 24 rebounds and added 12 points.
-Bailee Vanover recorded 16 points and five assists.
