SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's basketball team dominated its first game after the Thanksgiving break with a Monday matinee victory over Wesleyan College, 72-35, from Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee controlled from the opening tip. However, despite the Wolves making it a 5-4 affair with 7:32 left in the period, the Tigers finished the quarter on a 7-3 run to lead 13-7.
-In the middle two quarters, the Tigers used strong defense and timely shooting to outscore the Wolves 30-8 in the middle 20 minutes to take a 43-15 lead into the fourth quarter.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Four Tigers were in double figures on Monday, led by
Abby Young and
Kinsley Logan with 14 points each. Young went 6-of-10 from the field, while Logan drained 6-of-7 from the charity stripe and added four steals and three dimes.

Keisha Phillips posted 13 points on five boards and three assists.

Kayla Antoine recorded 12 points and grabbed four boards.
WESLEYAN KEY STATISTICS
-Jamila Ra-Hashim posted 15 points, all in the fourth quarter, to pace Wesleyan.

The Tigers wrap up the two-game homestand on Saturday with the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opener against Centre College. Tip is slated for 1 p.m. inside Juhan Gymnasium.
