SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's basketball team ended a four-game losing skid, as they defeated Asbury University, 76-58, in a Sunday matinee inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both teams came out shooting in the early goings. After Sewanee struggled from downtown on Saturday, they came out strong in the opening frame on Sunday. The hosts dropped 5-of-7 from downtown en route to a 27-19 lead after one quarter of play.
-Asbury hung around in the second quarter, but it was Sewanee with the 36-30 advantage going into the locker room.
-The third quarter was a repeat of the first quarter, as Sewanee shot 8-of-10 from the field and dropped 24 points to maintain the lead, 60-52.
-Sewanee would pull away thanks to poor shooting by Asbury, as they missed 11 3-point field goals in the frame and finished with one field goal in its last 16 attempts.

Ellie Treanton led all scorers with 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. The senior also added six boards and three dimes.

Kinsley Logan recorded 13 points and posted six assists.

Kayla Antoine recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards, while Abby Youn dropped 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.

-Jacklynn Ruble led the Eagles with 17 points, while Autumn Herriford recorded 12 points and eight boards.
