SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's basketball team used a strong quarter to get back in contention, but it was the visitors from Asbury University who took the 69-57 victory from the Tigers, Saturday night inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Asbury used a strong opening frame to push the lead to 22-10 after 10 minutes, as they led from the get-go.
-In the second half, Asbury pushed the lead to its largest of 18, 45-27, with 3:13 left in the third quarter. However, the Tigers used a 10-0 run the rest of the quarter, thanks to key free throw shooting, to make it a 45-37 affair after 30 minutes of play.
-Sewanee did cut the deficit down to single digits multiple times, but Asbury would respond on most of its trips down the stretch to seal the contest.

Abby Young led the Tigers with 14 points, while
Ellie Treanton registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Kinsley Logan also contributed 12 points and five boards, while
Keisha Phillips adde seven points and boards each.
ASBURY KEY STATISTICS
-Autumn Herriford dropped 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting and added eight boards.
Sarah Dennison posted 10 boards, while Trinity Shearer recorded 13 points on 4-of-5 from the field and 5-of-7 from the charity stripe.
