SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South men's basketball team opened the 2021 Lon Varnell Classic with an 82-57 victory over the Mississippi University for Women, Friday night inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee rolled out to a 21-12 lead with 13:43 left in the half thanks to Blake Boudlin's four triples.
-Sewanee posted a 57.6% mark from the field in the opening half as the Purple and White tallied a 45-31 at the half.
-The Tigers limited the Owls to 26 points and a 9-of-31 effort from the floor in the second half.

Russ Marr led all scorers with 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting with 9-of-11 from the charity stripe.

Blake Bouldin dropped 17 points, including four triples.
Tre Corrigan and

-Ddallen Bailey posted 11 points to pace the Owls in the contest.
