DECATUR, Ga. - The University of the South women's basketball team suffered an 82-77 overtime decision to Belhaven University in the opener of the Agnes Scott Tip-Off Classic, Friday night from Woodruff Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee held an 18-12 early lead after one quarter of play. However, the Blazers came out strong in the second quarter with an 11-of-15 mark from the floor in the period to even the contest at 40 points each at the break.
-The two teams battled in the second half. In the final period of regulation, no team had more than a one-possession lead. Belhaven secured a free throw to make it a 70-68 lead with 27 seconds to go. After a Sewanee timeout, the Tigers were able to draw a foul to send
Kinsley Logan to the charity stripe. The senior drained both free throws to force the game into overtime, tied at 70.
-Each team traded shots in the early part of the overtime period, but the Tigers struggled from the field in the extra session, going 2-of-11.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Kinsley Logan and
Ellie Treanton each tallied 21 points. Logan drained 16-of-16 from the charity stripe and added four assists, while Treanton posted six rebounds and two steals.

Abby Young added 12 points and six boards, while Kayla Antoice added 11 points and five offensive boards.
BELHAVEN KEY STATISTICS
-Shomaria Overton led the Blazers with 19 points, while Xhiir Burgess added 11 points and rebounds each.
