BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of the South volleyball program were swept by the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern College in straight sets, Sunday afternoon from the Bill Battle Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Purple and White had no answer for Birmingham-Southern's offense, as the Panthers posted 40 kills on the day to the Tigers' 15.
-However, in the opening set, the Tigers were up 12-9 before the Panthers went on a 6-1 run to retake the lead, 15-13. The teams would trade back-to-back points late in the set. After a service error by BSC to even the score at 23, the Panthers used a Rominey Willner kill and a Sewanee attack error to win the opening set, 25-23.
-Birmingham-Southern kept the momentum going in the next two sets, 25-14 and 25-12 to secure the match.
-The Panthers are receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll.

Lilly Reilly had six kills, and
Adele Cassidy added 12 digs.
BIRMINGHAM-SOUTHERN KEY STATISTICS
-Alyssa Coats led the way for BSC with 10 kills and recorded a .280 swing percentage.
-Kate Powell posted 13 digs, while Kennedy Dickens added three block assists and two aces.
