DANVILLE, Ky. - The University of the South men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Centre College in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match, Saturday afternoon from Amend Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Connor Cheynet got the Sewanee offense rolling in the fifth minute off an
Evan Poole assist.
-The Colonels added a quick goal of their own with a 17th minute strike by Nathan Wilcox from Sota Ippongi.
-After Centre attempted 13 shots in the first 45 minutes, the Sewanee defense allowed 14 shots in the final 65 minutes of the match.

Thompson Schollaert had a shot attempt in the 88th minute that was off target, and the contest went into overtime.
-Centre had four shot attempts in the first extra period, but they were unable to score the golden goal. Additionally, the Colonels did not give the Tigers the opportunity to shoot as the match was forced into a second overtime.
-The hosts had two big shot attempts in the final minutes of the second overtime.
Stewart Miller made a key save in the 108th minute, as the match ended in a draw.
-Sewanee snapped a six-match losing streak to the Colonels with Saturday's tie.
