SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South football program saw a 66-7 defeat to No. 21/20 Trinity University, Saturday afternoon from historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Trinity marched down the field early in the game to lead 14-0 after one quarter of play.
-The Texas Tigers increased the lead to 38-0 by the halftime whistle.
-Sewanee would get on the scoreboard late in the third quarter thanks to a 17-yard pass from
Tucker Kirk to
Cyrus Wilson.
-The visitor's defense was as good as advertised on Saturday. One of the nation's best in defensive yard production and scoring, TU held Sewanee to 43 passing yards and 61 rushing yards on the afternoon.
-Trinity is ranked in both the D3football.com poll (21st) and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll (20th).
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Jacob Jackson totaled six tackles, while
Kason Holder had five tackles and two breakups.
Harris Cravens also contributed four tackles and two breakups.

Tucker Kirk gained 51 yards on the ground as he threw for a touchdown to
Cyrus Wilson.

Jack Satterfield averaged 37.9 punts on the day, including improving his long of 67 yards in the third quarter.

-Tucker Horn posted 206 passing yards and four touchdowns.
-Chris Stewart added 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns to go along with a 67-yard punt return.
