Box Score 2 ROME, Ga. - The Sewanee softball team began Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play on Saturday with a doubleheader at Berry. The Vikings took two from the Tigers, 10-1 and 9-1, from Kay Williams Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Berry ballooned the lead to 6-0 after three innings of play before Sewanee got on the board.
-After a Peri Prestwood double, two batters later, Sam Dean helped bring her home thanks to a Berry throwing error.
-The Vikings, however, would put the contest away, scoring two runs in the fourth and sixth each to secure the 10-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-After Hunter Padgett brought in the first run of the game via an RBI single in the bottom half of the first, the visitors evened the game in the next half-inning. Thanks to two throwing errors, Sam Dean was able to score Sewanee's first run of the game.
-However, the Vikings responded in the bottom half of the second with four runs to lead 5-1 after two.
-After a single run in the bottom of the third by the hosts, Berry put the game away with a three-run sixth.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Peri Prestwood and Maggie Willis each had two hits in game one and game two, respectively.
BERRY KEY STATISTICS
-Madison Morgan led the Vikings with five runs scored in both games, while Lauren Baccari posted two-hit games in both victories for the Vikings.
-Madison Hollis (3-0) allowed one unearned run in six innings, fanning four, in her game one win. Makenzie Flynt (1-0) allowed one hit and walk each in three relief innings for the win in game two.
