Box Score 2 MACON, Ga. - The Sewanee softball team fell in a Sunday doubleheader against Wesleyan (Ga.), 1-0 and 9-3 on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-A traditional pitcher's duel was the story of game one. The Wolves managed a fourth inning run which would be the ultimate factor.
-The Tigers had an opportunity to tie the game in the final inning, but the team stranded two runners in scoring position that allowed the Wolves to the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-Wesleyan came out swinging in the second game of the doubleheader, scoring a run in the first and four in the second with a 5-0 lead after two innings.
-Sewanee got back in the contest with three runs in the frame. Maggie Willis scored the first run on a passed ball, and Kendell Goodrum brought Alice Charboneau home on a fielder's choice. Sarah Wright later scored in the frame to make it a two-run affair.
-The Wolves responded with three more runs in the bottom half of the third to put the contest aw.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Maggie Willis led the Tigers with three hits on the day, while Alice Charboneau and Sarah Wright each had two hits.
WESLEYAN KEY STATISTICS
-Jenday Wright posted three RBI in the second game thanks to a 2-for-3 day at the plate.
-Kimberly Dick (2-0) struck out seven batters in the opener to earn the complete game shutout. MacKenzie Hooker (1-0) earned the win with three unearned runs in the second game.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will next play Covenant on Lookout Mountain in a twinbill Tuesday afternoon.
