Box Score 2 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Sewanee softball team collected its first wins of the 2020 season with a doubleheader sweep of Johnson on Saturday, shutting out the Royals in game one, 10-0, and taking the second game, 10-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-The Tigers struck first in the top half of the first inning, as the first three Tigers reached base. Alice Charboneau drove in the first run of the contest with a sacrifice fly before Hannah Clarke pushed across an RBI single.
-Sewanee would add a run in the third thanks to an RBI single by Sarah Wright to make it a 3-0 lead, but the Tigers would put the contest away in the fourth inning. Maggie Willis posted a two-run triple to make it a 5-0 affair before Peri Prestwood posted an RBI single to lead 6-0 after three and a half innings.
-In the seventh, Charboneau launched a two-run dinger as the Tigers put double figures in the run column for the first time in 2020.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-In the nightcap, after a scoreless first inning, Sewanee put four runs on the board in the second and one in the third. The offense started with a Mikayla Walker two-run single. In the third, an RBI single by Sarah Wright gave the visitors a 5-0 advantage.
-Johnson tacked on three runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to 5-3, but Sewanee responded with a five-run sixth to put the game away, led by a bases-clearing triple by Hannah Clarke.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Alice Charboneau had a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, homer, three RBI and two runs scored in game one. Michaela Walker also posted three hits and two runs scored.
-Walker (1-2) also earned the win in the circle, allowing one hit in four innings.
-In game two, Sarah Wright, Walker and Kendell Goodrum each contributed three hits, while Walker added two RBI. Hannah Clarke also contributed three RBI on a triple.
-Goodrum (1-2) fanned six batters to earn the win.
JOHNSON KEY STATISTICS
-Casiee Jordan, Summer Dean, Anastey Seal and Olivia Gilley each posted a hit in the opening game.
-In game two, Jordan led the Royals with three hits and scored two runs.
UP NEXT
The month-long road trip continues next weekend, as they travel to Agnes Scott (Ga.) outside of Atlanta in Decatur.
