HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 1
-Sewanee, trailing 1-0 after one full inning of play, evened the score with a Peri Prestwood base knock that brought home Kendell Goodrum.
-However, the Colonels responded with seven runs in the second before adding four runs in the next two innings.
-Sewanee added three runs in the top of the fourth, capped with an RBI double by Katie Roth.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 2
-The Colonels scored early and often in the contest, leading the series finale, 10-0, after two innings of play before adding four runs each in the third and fourth.
-Rachel Hoffman broke the shutout with a two-run single that brought home Taylor Wagner and Hanna Judycki.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Maggie Willis posted three hits in the doubleheader, two in game one, and Charlsey Shirey, Peri Prestwood and Kendell Goodrum recorded two hits in the twinbill.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Rileyanne Sharpe posted five hits in the doubleheader, with four coming in the opener. She drove in two runs and scored four times.
-Amanda Morgan (3-4) and McKinley Rush (1-0) each struck out three batters in their start for the Colonels.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will step out of conference play to compete in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The four-day, eight-game event begins Monday against Sarah Lawrence and Principia.
