Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. - The Sewanee softball team battled with the Majors of Millsaps in Sunday's doubleheader from the Millsaps Softball Complex. However, the home team recorded the series sweep, 12-0 and 6-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 1
-Game one of the doubleheader was all Millsaps, as the team led 4-0 after one inning and 9-0 after two.
-Adding three runs in the fourth, the Majors took the 12-0, run-rule, victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME 2
-The series finale saw Sewanee out in front early. In the second, Taylor Wagner brought home Kendell Goodrum on a bases loaded walk.
-Rachel Hoffman followed with a base hit to deep center field. With the merry-go-round in process, all three runners, Hanna Judycki, Peri Prestwood and Wagner all scored to give the Purple and Gold a 4-0 advantage.
-Millsaps responded in the bottom half of the frame with a double to break the shutout.
-In the third, the Tigers got the run back on a Prestwood two-bagger to score Katie Roth.
-Trailing 5-1, the Majors recorded the come-from-behind victory, scoring two runs in the fifth to even the contest at five runs apiece.
-In the seventh, Morgan McCrea walked the Majors off with an RBI base hit.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Rachel Hoffman led the Purple and Gold with three hits on the day, including a perfect day in the series finale. In four plate appearances, the senior recorded two base hits and walked twice, and she also drove in three RBI.
-Peri Prestwood posted two doubles and walks each.
-Kendell Goodrum (0-8) recorded the decision in both contests, pitching 9.1 innings in the circle.
MILLSAPS KEY STATISTICS
-Katelyn Norse posted a 3-for-3 game one with two RBI.
-Karley Williams (2-3) recorded the win in game one, while Amber Funderburk (3-3) earned the win in the second game.

The Tigers will begin their spring break on the road next weekend with an SAA series with Centre.
