SAA Release | 2019 Women's Soccer All-Conference Awards
ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) released on Monday the postseason awards for the 2019 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams. Four Tigers were named to the list.
Nika Gorski was a First Team selection, and Addie Roemershauser earned Second Team honors. Additionally, Kiera Giacomini and Bea Richardson were tabbed Honorable Mention.
Gorski collects her first All-SAA selection as a sophomore. The Weeki Wachee, Fla. native was a major part of the Sewanee defense in 2019, allowing seven goals in league play, with five coming against the SAA Regular Season and Tournament champions in Centre.
Assisting on corner kicks, she also attributed 10 points on four goals and two assists as she started in all 17 games.
On Oct. 21, Gorski was honored with an SAA Defensive Player of the Week accolade after allowing three shots on goal in matches at Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps.
Roemershauser earns her first All-SAA selection as a freshman. The New Orleans, La. native led all freshmen in goals and points as she finished third in the SAA in goals scored (12) and points (27). Playing in all 17 games, she recorded a .255 shooting percentage.
In the contest versus Agnes Scott on Sept. 21, Roemershauser posted a hat trick on six total shots. The accolade was worthy enough for a Player of the Week Award from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA).
Giacomini collects her first All-Conference honor after a stellar season as a defender. Being the primary corner kicker for the Tigers in 2019, the Maryville, Tenn. native finished the season with six points on four assists and a goal.
Richardson garners her first postseason accolade from the SAA in her first year with the program. The Montgomery, Ala. native posted five points on two goals and an assist as a midfielder.
The women's soccer program returned to the SAA Tournament Semifinals after a year hiatus as the Tigers finished with an 8-7-2 record.
