HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers struck first against the defending Southern Athletic Association Tournament Champions in the 15th minute thanks to a penalty kick goal by Kyle Johnston for his sixth goal of the year.
-The Stormy Petrels evened the score nearly 11 minutes later, as Sebastian Carlson lobbed a pass to Andrew Grodhaus.
-The score remained even at the intermission, but the home team took the lead for the first time of the match with a 57th goal by Alan Hernandez off a Chris Welsh cross.
-Sewanee got back in the contest thanks to a little help from OU in the 77th minute. After a corner kick and a missed header, the ball trickled in the net for an own goal. That mistake evened the score at two goals apiece.
-The match remained even until the 88th minute. With two and a half to go in regulation, the Petrels netted the game-winner with a Topher Marshall goal.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kyle Johnston scored his sixth goal of the season off a penalty kick.
-Marco Randazzo took the other two shots for the Tigers, one on goal.
-James Murray saved nine shots in 85 minutes, but Evan Stuber (1-1) allowed the game-winner.
OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-The Petrels outshot the Tigers, 19-3 in the contest.
-Gabriel Alvarez took four shots to lead the home team.
-Andrew Grodhaus, Alan Hernandez and Topher Marshall scored for OU.
