SAA Release
ATLANTA - Announced by the Southern Athletic Association on Monday, Sewanee middle blocker Ellie Pedersen has been selected as the SAA Volleyball Player of the Week following her performance this past week.
In three matches this week, the Franklin, Tenn. native dropped 37 kills for an attack percentage of .455. In 68 total attacks, the freshman committed just five errors. She finished with 43.5 points.
Against Centre, Pedersen tallied 15 kills on 21 total attacks, committing one error, in a four-set win over the Colonels.
On Saturday versus the Warriors of Hendrix, she also committed just one error and successfully killed 11 of 22 total attacks that saw the match go to five sets.
She wrapped up the week with 11 kills and a .280 attack percentage en route to a win in four sets against Rhodes.
Pedersen enters the week leading the team in attack percentage with a .296 clip. This mark is also fourth-best in the conference.
Pedersen and the Tigers will hit the road for the next two weeks. The team will make a trip to Mississippi for two matches, beginning with a non-conference contest with MUW in Columbus Friday night.
