Box Score 2 MACON, Ga. - Sewanee softball earned a doubleheader split with the Wolves of Wesleyan (Ga.), winning the opener 8-2 before falling in the finale 4-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Sewanee's offense started early and often in the opener with four runs in the frame. Jackie O'Reilly started the game with a double and scored on Miranda Townsend's RBI single.
-Later in the frame, Charlsey Shirey brought the second run of the inning home on a bases loaded walk.
-Katie Bender followed with a two-run RBI single, scoring Taylor Wagner and Caroline Sweetin.
-After the Wolves scored on a groundout in the bottom half of the frame, the Tigers added the run back in the next half inning. Rachel Hoffman brought home Katrina Ramos on a fielder's choice.
-Leading 5-1 going into the fourth, the visitors added three more runs to seal the contest. Hoffman started the scoring with an RBI single, scoring O'Reilly.
-Sweetin followed with an RBI double to bring home Hoffman before Sweetin scored by stealing home.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-Wesleyan opened the contest with a run in the bottom of the first, but in the top of the third, Sewanee tied the contest with an RBI single by Townsend, scoring O'Reilly.
-The Wolves brought three home in the bottom of the fourth to seal the contest.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Katie Bender and Caroline Sweetin each contributed three hits in game one. Bender tallied two RBI, while Sweetin scored two runs.
-Rachel Hoffman scored two RBI on a 2-for-4 performance in the opener.
-Miranda Townsend and Hoffman both notched two hits in game two.
-Jackie O'Reilly (1-4) tossed a complete game for Sewanee in game one, allowing two runs on five hits and fanning four batters. Coming in as a reliever in game two, she allowed five hits and three earned runs to suffer the loss.
WESLEYAN KEY STATISTICS
-Victoria Clower and Alana Walker each drove in a run in game one.
-Walker finished 2-for-3 in the afternoon contest with two RBI.
-Abby Sparrow (0-1) allowed five earned in 3.2 innings on nine hits and two walks.
-Clower (2-3) tossed seven innings of one unearned run ball on seven hits.

The Tigers will next suit up on March 6 at Covenant for a 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT first pitch from Lookout Mountain, Ga. The Tigers' home opener will commence on March 10 against Centre.
