Tigers Stumble to Panthers in Sunday Afternoon Match

Box Score

SEWANEE, Tenn. - After 45 minutes of little to no action, the Sewanee Tigers and the Hanover Panthers decided to bring the action into the second half, but the Panthers scored three times in Sunday's loss for the Purple and Gold, 3-1, at Puett Field.

Hanover got the scoring started in the 49th minute by Brandi Brock's corner kick.

The Panthers (5-2-0) netted their second goal of the match as Kayla Nowlin broke away from the Sewanee defenders for her first goal of the season in the 65th minute.

After a Sewanee yellow card in the 75th minute, Brock took the penalty kick for the Panthers for her second goal of the match to make the lead 3-0 in favor of the visitors.

Mary "Sissy" Frank broke the shutout for the Tigers (2-4-1) in the 77th minute off a Dayla LaRocque corner kick.

The Tigers continue their six-match homestand this week, as the fourth match in the series will be against Emory in their final non-conference match. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday night from The Pit.
