Berea sweeps a doubleheader against Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 9, 2017) – An impressive offensive performance led visiting Berea to a doubleheader sweep of the Sewanee softball team, Sunday.

The Bearcats won game one 14-1 and took the second contest 21-3.

Overall, Katie Roth, who had three hits, including a double in game two, led Sewanee. Caroline Sweetin also played well with two hits, a run scored, and an RBI. Sydney Leibfritz finished with a hit and an RBI while Miranda Townsend drove in two with a double in the second contest.

Mercedes Stanfield led Berea with seven hits, nine RBI, and two homeruns. One of her homeruns was a grand slam.

Sewanee returns to action with a doubleheader against Hiwassee, Tuesday.
