Box Score 2 CONWAY, Ark. (April 14, 2017) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Hendrix swept a doubleheader against the Sewanee softball team, Friday.
The Tigers dropped the first game 14-2 and then fell in the second contest, 4-0.
Sewanee was down 6-0 before Rachel Hoffman singled in Emily Taylor in the top of the third. Sewanee's final run came in the top of the fifth when Caroline Sweetin ripped a single that plated Katie Roth.
Overall, Sewanee was undone by a seven-run third inning by Hendrix.
In the second game, the Tigers were shutout despite registering the same amount of hits as Hendrix.
Sweetin led the Tigers with a 2-for-3 effort. Roth, Taylor Wagner, Miranda Townsend, Amanda Watters, and Sydney Leibfritz all had one hit.
Sewanee and Hendrix conclude their series with a noon contest, Saturday.
