Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee Tigers and the Hendrix Warriors each netted a goal in the contest, but nobody could net the golden goal on Friday night at Puett Field in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play.
Hendrix broke away to score the first goal of the contest with a Hagan Griffith goal in the 24th minute. The Warriors (5-7-2, 1-2-2) were able to hold the lead to halftime.
Mary "Sissy" Frank found the back of the net in the 58th minute to even the contest at one goal apiece.
The Tigers (5-6-2, 3-1-1) outshot the Warriors, 5-1, in the final 32:39 of regulation, but nothing broke through, which forced overtime.
In the first overtime, Sewanee took the lone shot in the period. Erin Gill hit the post in the 92nd minute.
In the second overtime, the shots picked up for both teams, with Hendrix leading the category, 4-3.
Savannah Williams (3-1-1) recorded almost 104 minutes in goal as she stopped two shots.
The Tigers will wrap the home portion of their regular season on Sunday when Rhodes comes to town. Kickoff is set for noon from Puett Field.
