Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee volleyball team bounced back from a rough weekend on the road to defeat Centre in straight sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-17, Thursday night from Juhan Gymnasium.
The Tigers (9-10, 3-7) held off a late charge by Centre (8-12, 3-7) in the first set, despite the Colonels having a slightly better attack percentage (.057 to Sewanee's .054).
Sewanee easily down Centre in the final two sets, committing only five errors to the opponent's 19.
Destiny Stewart recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs. The freshman also tallied two block assists.
Claire Crow recorded eight digs and 15 assists in the contest, while Mason Gardella posted five kills and three blocks, two solos.
The Tigers limited the Colonels to an .098 attack percentage, while the Purple and Gold posted a .177 attack percentage.
Keeley Morton tallied 10 kills for Centre, while Morgan Babey posted 12 digs.
The Tigers three-match homestand continues Saturday, when Rhodes comes to Juhan Gymnasium. First serve on senior day is scheduled for 2 p.m.
