Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 4, 2016) – After scoring four goals to open the season on Thursday, the Sewanee men's soccer team doubled its output with an 8-0 victory against Louisiana College, Sunday.
The Tigers are now 2-0 this season after combining to outscore their opponents 12-1 over the first two matches. Additionally, Sewanee's eight goals are the most in a single match since the Tigers defeated Rust 9-0 on September 18, 2005.
In the opening half, Kyle Johnston, Parker Fay, and Noah McIndoo all scored which pushed Sewanee's lead to 3-0 by halftime.
After the break, the Tigers kept rolling. Johnston, Ben Vaeth, Reid Turner, and Will Thomas all added goals.
Overall, Sewanee outshot Louisiana 44-5. The Tigers also added 10 corners while Sewanee's backline defense allowed only one shot on goal.
Sewanee quickly returns to action with a noon contest against Franklin, Monday.
