Tigers drop matches against Berry and Virginia Wesleyan

ROME, Ga. (Sept. 24, 2016)  The Sewanee volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday against Southern Athletic Association (SAA) member Berry and against non-conference foe Virginia Wesleyan.

After the Tigers dropped a 3-0 contest to the Vikings, Sewanee fell to Wesleyan by the same score.

Overall, Sewanee was led on offense by senior Diamond Stewart and freshman Constance Connolly. Stewart finished with 20 kills and 14 digs on the day while Connolly led all setters with a combined 25 assists and 17 digs.

Additionally, freshman setter Anna Wilson finished with 24 assists and a combined 15 digs. On defense, libero Sara Jayne Sutton closed the day with 31 digs while fellow classmate Kristy Gray added 19 stops.

Sewanee quickly returns to action with a 1:00 p.m. (EST) match at Oglethorpe, Sunday.
