Softball's season ends with loss to Millsaps

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (April 23, 2016) – The Sewanee softball team closed out its first season under head coach Merritt Yackey with a 10-0 loss to Millsaps in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament.

Despite the defeat, Sewanee ended with its most wins since the 2005 season. The Tigers also set new school and conference records for runs scored in a single game when Sewanee defeated Sweet Briar 34-22 on March 19th.

In Saturday's contest, the Majors scored two runs in the first, one in the second, four in the third, and three in the fourth inning.

Caroline Holmes, Courtney Saunders, and Miranda Townsend led the Tigers with three hits each.
