Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 12, 2016) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Hendrix completed a three-game sweep of the Sewanee softball team, Saturday, at Tiger Field.
The Warriors the opener on Saturday 17-0 and then took the second game 14-1.
Hendrix jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning. The Warriors added two runs in the second, one in the third, six in the fourth, and two in the fifth.
Shelby Anderson led the Warriors at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance with three RBI and three runs scored. Two of her hits were a homerun and a double.
The two Tiger hits came from Rachel Hoffman and Courtney Saunders.
In the nightcap, Hendrix raced in front with six runs in the first, three in the second, and five in the third.
Again Anderson led Hendrix. The third baseman hit for the cycle and had two RBI.
Sewanee scored its lone run when Sabrina Caldwell drove in Saunders.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday at Covenant.
