Tigers fall to Berry, 3-0

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2016)  Behind a .209 attack percentage, Southern Athletic Association (SAA) member Berry defeated the Sewanee volleyball team, 3-0, Friday, inside Juhan Gymnasium.

The Vikings opened by winning their first set, 25-7. Berry then rallied in the second for a 25-21 win before the Vikings held on in the third set at 25-23.

After a slow start, Sewanee finished with a .114 attack percentage. Individually, Elizabeth Gill led the offense with seven kills while setters Anna Wilson and Constance Connolly combined for 22 assists.

On defense, libero Sara Jayne Sutton led the Tigers with 10 digs.

Jessica Gum, the top offensive player in the SAA, paced Berry with a match-high nine kills

Sewanee quickly returns to action with a 1:00 p.m. match against Oglethorpe, Saturday.
