Sewanee falls at BSC, 3-0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 15, 2016)  Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Birmingham-Southern earned a 3-0 win over the Sewanee volleyball team, Saturday, inside Bill Battle Coliseum.

The Panthers, who are currently in second place in the SAA, earned set victories at 25-12, 25-13, and 26-24.

Limited to a low attack percentage, Stephanie Price led the Tigers with six kills. Caroline Owens and Elizabeth Gill added five kills while Anna Wilson finished with nine assists.

On defense, Sara Jayne Sutton led the Tigers with 21 digs while Owens added 15 stops. Additionally, Kristy Gray (12), Diamond Stewart (11), and Constance Connolly (14) all had double-digit digs.

Sewanee is scheduled to play a pair of matches in Jackson, Miss., Sunday. The Tigers first take on Millsaps and then play Austin College.
