Volleyball sweeps Oglethorpe to move to 9-4 overall

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 26, 2015) – The Sewanee volleyball team rolled past Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Oglethorpe with a 3-0 victory, Saturday, inside Juhan Gymnasium.

Sewanee is now 9-4 overall and 2-2 in SAA action.

The Tigers won the first set 25-17 and then took the second at 25-12. The Tigers never looked back in the third after completing the sweep at 25-19.

Overall, the Tigers hit .258 while limiting the Stormy Petrels to a .008 attack percentage.

Individually, Diamond Stewart led the offense with eight kills. She also played well on defense with 10 digs. As a team, Sewanee had four players with double-digit digs. Along with Stewart, Caroline Owens had 13 stops, Sara Jayne Sutton finished with 17, while Walker Buxton added to her 21 assists with 10 digs.

Sewanee quickly returns to action with a 2:00 p.m., match, Sunday against No. 21 Berry.
