Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2015) – The Sewanee volleyball team completed a sweep of the Sewanee Invitational with a pair of 3-0 wins over Fisk and LaGrange, Saturday, inside Juhan Gymnasium.
The Tigers have won seven straight matches after starting the season 0-2. Sewanee has also won the past five matches by perfect 3-0 scores.
Overall, Sewanee opened by defeating in-state foe Fisk 25-20, 27-25, and 25-23. In that match, Sewanee hit .159 with 37 kills and 64 digs.
Individually, Diamond Stewart led the Tigers with 10 kills. Defensively, Peyton Parent finished with 18 digs while Walker Buxton pitched in 14 digs and 29 assists.
Additionally, Sara Jayne Sutton finished with 12 digs.
Then in the second match, Sewanee topped LaGrange 25-16, 25-17, and 25-18.
Sewanee again hit the ball well with an attack percentage of .261.
Stewart had a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs while Parent also finished with 14 stops.
The Tigers will look to keep its winning streak going with its first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match on Sept. 15 against Centre.
