Box Score 2 SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 18, 2015) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes completed a four-game sweep over the Sewanee softball team, Saturday, at Tiger Field.
The Lynx opened with a 13-1 win and then topped the Tigers 9-1 in the finale.
Behind starter Caroline Reilly, Rhodes allowed only two hits to Sewanee in the first game. The Lynx then scored three runs in the second and 10 in the third. Along with her five strikeouts inside the circle, Reilly finished 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two homeruns at the plate.
Sewanee's lone hits came from Shayla Vandergriff and Sara Burklin.
In the second game, Rhodes scored in every inning but the second. The one run Sewanee scored came in the bottom of the fifth as Gabby Sanders drove in Emily Donkervoet.
Overall, Sanders, Donkervoet, Vandergriff, Burklin, Grace Cobbs, and Courtney Saunders all finished with a hit.
Christine Hume led Rhodes on offense with three RBI.
