Rhodes tops Sewanee in the opening two games

SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 17, 2015) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Rhodes swept a pair of games against the Sewanee softball team, Friday, at Tiger Field.

The Lynx opened with a 9-0 win in the opener and then took the second contest, 11-1.

Rhodes opened game one behind the outstanding pitching of Forrest Skelton. The Lynx starter tossed a six-strike out, perfect game in the win.

In the second contest, Rhodes scored two runs in the first, four in the second, three in the third, and two in the fourth.

Sewanee's lone run came in the bottom of the fifth as Gabby Sanders drove in senior Emily Culbertson who reached on a hit.

Christine Hume led the Lynx with two hits, four RBI, and a home run.

Both teams return to action with a doubleheader on Saturday.
