Box Score 2 JACKSON, Miss. (March 7, 2015) – Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Millsaps opened conference play by sweeping the Sewanee softball team, Saturday.
The Majors opened with a 14-0 win and then topped the Tigers in the nightcap, 17-1.
Game One – Millasps 14 – Sewanee 0
Millsaps scored a run in the bottom of the first and then added five runs in the second, two in the third, and six in the fourth.
The Majors were led at the plate by Kaitlyn Casias, who finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a double.
Millsaps starter Cassidy DeNoon led the Majors on the mound with a complete game two hitter. DeNoon is now 8-0 on the season after striking 10.
Game Two – Millsaps 17 – Sewanee 1
Millsaps starter Danielle Faucheux tossed an 11 strikeout, 5.0 inning complete game. Along with the Major pitcher, five Millsaps batters had at least one hit while eight players had at least one RBI.
Sewanee was led at the plate by catcher Sara Burklin, who finished with one hit and a run scored.
The Tigers and Majors will close out the four-game series Sunday with a doubleheader.
