ST. LOUIS, Mo. (March 1, 2015) – The No. 5 ranked Washington University men's tennis team topped Sewanee, 8-1, Sunday, at the Sunset Tennis Center.
Sewanee dropped to 5-1 on the season while the Bears are now 5-1 after their win.
After sweeping all three doubles points, Washington won at positions two through six in singles. That included victories by ranked players No. 37 Ross Putterman, No. 26 Johnny Wu, and No. 48 Kevin Chu.
Sewanee's lone win came at No. 1 where nationally-ranked Avery Schober defeated John Carswell 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
The Tigers return to action on March 13 against Carnegie Mellon in Claremont, Calif.
