Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2015) – A balanced team effort led the Sewanee field hockey team to a 5-0 win over visiting Bethany, Monday, at Puett Field.
The Tigers are now 9-3 overall and have won three of their last four matches.
Sewanee got on the board twice in the opening 35 minutes. Virginia Barry scored off a pass from Luna Goodale and Kat Mulligan ripped in an unassisted goal.
The Tigers kept rolling in the second half with goals by Barry, Katie Wilson, and Ellen Copper. Copper's goal was her first at Sewanee, which came off an assist from Catherine Estes.
Overall, 10 players finished with shots as Sewanee had 22 attempts inside the circle. The Tigers' defense limited Bethany to five attempts.
Sewanee will now prepare for a key Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match against Centre, Saturday. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
