Box Score ATLANTA (Oct. 11, 2015) – Behind its fourth highest attack percentage this season, the Sewanee volleyball team swept Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Oglethorpe, 3-0, Sunday, inside the Schmidt Center.
The win snapped the Tigers' recent losing streak and gave Sewanee a season sweep of the Stormy Petrels. The Tigers opened the match by winning the first two sets at 25-18. Sewanee then completed the victory with a 25-17 win in the third.
The Tigers hit .271, which was their best offensive performance since September 11th against Huntingdon.
Individually, Sewanee used a balanced offense to keep Oglethorpe down. Diamond Stewart, Lucy Riddle, and Caroline Montgomery all had seven kills. The majority of offensive opportunities came off the pass from Walker Buxton, who finished with 30 assists.
On defense, Sara Jayne Sutton finished with 12 digs while Montgomery added one block and two block assists.
Sewanee returns to action with a 5:30 p.m. match at home Thursday against Centre.
