No. 24 W&L holds on against Sewanee, 5-4

SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 18, 2014) – No. 24 Washington & Lee held on for a 5-4 win over the Sewanee men's tennis team Friday at the Bruton-Guerry Tennis Center.

The Tigers dropped their overall record to 11-6 overall and also snapped a seven-match winning streak.

Sewanee earned its first point as Avery Schober and Connor Winkler defeated Sam Borowsky and Christopher Hu 8-5 at No. 2.

W&L then won at the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 positions.

Sewanee did fight back as Schober defeated Taylor Shamshiri at No. 1 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. Sean Laughlin rallied back from a set down to win at No. 5 Brian Krouskos 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

Finally, Scott Gallimore won at No. 6 over Borowsky by a score of 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.
